  • Yes. Contributions to a Washington state 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization are generally tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Donors may deduct the contribution amount from their taxable income when filing federal income taxes. 

  • 100% of your contribution is directed toward the event's operational costs. This includes fireworks, venue rentals (such as portable restrooms), marketing, and essential services provided by law enforcement and emergency response personnel. As this is a community-driven, all-volunteer initiative, no portion of your donation is used for administrative salaries or personal compensation. 

  • We welcome community involvement. The Stanwood Salute to America is envisioned as an annual tradition celebrating our nation’s independence, and we rely on individual and organizational volunteers to ensure its success. Opportunities include traffic coordination, vendor logistics, communications, and event organization. 

  • Yes. We appreciate contributions of goods or services from both individuals and businesses. For instance, a business donating supplies (such as beverages or equipment) will receive the necessary documentation to record the fair market value of the gift for tax purposes. 

  • Donating in memory of a loved one is a meaningful way to honor their legacy. For contributions of $100 or more made in honor or in memory of an individual, we are pleased to recognize their name on our website’s dedicated memorial page.

  • The Stanwood Salute to America is designed as a premier community celebration, and we invite organizations to take a leadership role in hosting specific activities. We envision a diverse program including classic competitions such as tug-of-war, pie or hot dog eating contests, and pickleball tournaments, alongside family-friendly entertainment like treasure hunts, face painting, and dunk booths. Furthermore, we strongly encourage the inclusion of historical and cultural awareness exhibits to enrich the event’s educational value. A curated selection of food truck vendors will also be on-site to provide a festive atmosphere for all attendees.

  • Local organizations, businesses, and community groups interested in leading an activity or sponsoring the Stanwood Salute to America are invited to participate via a dedicated space in 

    Heritage Park

    . To ensure a successful and organized event, all partners must adhere to the following requirements:

    • Sponsoring entities are responsible for providing all necessary supplies and coordinating their own volunteer teams to manage their assigned station or event.

    • Organizations are expected to maintain a clean environment and must complete a full teardown and removal of all trash and materials from their designated area before sunset on the day of the event.

    • In recognition of your event sponsorship, your organization’s logo will be prominently featured on the Stanwood Salute to America (SSAF) official website for the remainder of the 2026 calendar year.

    • All participants must comply with City of Stanwood Park regulations, including prohibitions on alcohol and personal fireworks. Furthermore, any activity involving more than 50 participants may require a formal Special Event Permit through the City of Stanwood.

    • Insurance Requirements: Depending on the nature of the activity, the city may require a Certificate of Liability Insurance
